Mahmudur R Manna (born October 31, 1982, in Dhaka, Bangladesh) is a Bangladeshi engineering leader, author, and entrepreneur. He is currently the Associate Director of Product Development & GTM at EY India and Bangladesh. Over his career spanning two decades, he has worked on cloud-native solutions, enterprise architecture, and SaaS platforms, while founding multiple startups and leading projects across Asia, Europe, and North America. Manna is also recognized for his contributions to Enterprise AI[1]. He has developed strategic frameworks and authored books that provide a comprehensive understanding of these complex fields. His work on digital workplace platforms and BI solutions has gained national and international recognition.[2][3]

Early Life and Education

Mahmudur Rahman Manna was introduced to programming in the 1990s through his father’s technical training institute. He learned Pascal and developed a school management system during his high school years. Manna completed his A-Levels in Computing from Bhuiyan Academy in Dhaka in 2001, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Computing and Information Systems from London Metropolitan University, UK in 2005. He later pursued an MBA in Business at Daffodil International University.

Career

Early Career and Entrepreneurship

  • In 2003, Manna founded We Technology, where he worked on migrating ERP solutions from MS FoxPro to Oracle 9i in collaboration with Creator Technologies Ltd.
  • In 2005, his development of an ETL tool in Java for Data warehousing, was featured in The Daily Ittefaq.
  • In 2006, Manna started as Lecturer for Daffodil Institute of Technology
  • By 2007, he had established Mannaco Microsystems, Inc., completing over 10 large scale business intelligence (BI) and enterprise web portals projects for US and EU clients.

International Experience

  • From 2010 to 2011, Manna worked as a Software Architect at Codemate Oy in Finland and Bangladesh, where he led the development of a municipality collaboration portal for Oulu Municipality.
  • He then joined Zensar NL in 2011, spearheading the development of a CMS for Bugaboo International B.V., supporting 17 languages across 53 countries.

Return to Bangladesh

  • After returning to Bangladesh in 2012, Manna founded EUSIA BD Ltd. and began developing a complex networking platform called Dzoin, funded by a leading real estate association in the Netherlands.
  • In 2013, he co-founded Newgen Technology Ltd. in collaboration with Babylon Group, where he designed and developed Prottay, an ERP system for the RMG sector.
  • In 2014, he founded Cloudoffice Ltd. and invested six years in developing a cloud-based digital workplace platform in distributed architecture, which was featured by BBC Bangla in 2019.[2]

Advisory and Leadership Roles

  • In 2018, Manna advised Hishab Ltd. (Conversational AI in Bengali over telephony) , contributing to its MLOps and microservices strategy.
  • From 2020 to 2021, he played a key role in reforming ADN DigiNet as Chief Software Architect.
  • In 2022, EY launched its Product Development Unit in India and Bangladesh with Manna as the Engineering Leader, where he currently oversees a team of over 50 members.
