Perry Monroe Shoemaker was an American railroad executive. He was the final president of the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad, serving in that capacity from 1952 until that railroad's merger with the Erie Railroad in 1960. He also served as president of the Central Railroad of New Jersey from 1962–1968, after which he retired. In retirement, Shoemaker worked as a transportation consultant and served on various corporate boards. He was also president of the Chamber of Commerce of the State of New York.

Personal life

Perry Shoemaker married three times. His first marriage, on August 16, 1930, was to Emily Brown Hane of Herkimer, New York. Emily was a graduate of the University of Rochester and the Eastman School of Music. The couple had four children; Emily died in 1964 at the age of 59. Perry's second marriage, on January 30, 1965, was to Vivien Bulloch Keatley, a reporter and editor who had worked for the Tucson Daily Citizen and the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital. The couple had no children of their own, and Vivien died in 1972 at the age of 63 after a long illness. His third and final marriage, later that year, was to Iva Brown Corcoran. Perry Shoemaker died on December 25, 1999, at the age of 93. Iva outlived him, dying on October 11, 2010, at the age of 90.
