Dear reader,
I would like to declare a benign conflict of interest. Under this username, I will edit pages related to the organization I work for. This is intended in the best spirit. The organization is small and obscure, and does not engage in PR. In most cases, its activities are subject to strict confidentiality. However, it does have a duty to provide basic, factual information to its small audience. Wikipedia pages related to the organization are currently sparse. They contain typos, inaccuracies, inconsistencies and omissions. These need to be addressed. In addition, the information from Wikipedia is often used by third-parties; for example, Facebook uses Wikipedia entries on its community pages. As such, incorrect and misleading information spreads unchecked.
It would be much better if an objective editor undertook the task of correcting and developing these pages, but I doubt they are on anyone's priority list. If I'm wrong, I'm more than happy to facilitate the work of another editor by providing information.
I will try to make my edits in the most open manner possible. If anything seems odd, please get in touch.
I work for the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities. Our public website is listed below. You may take any information from this website for your own use, and the website can be used to check facts. Most photos there are Creative Commons.
What pages am I editing?
[edit]I will list here the pages I am working (have worked) on with a basic line about what my objectives are:
He is the current High Commissioner on National Minorities (my boss). I will ensure the biography is factual. I will also provide a more recent photo. Update: With the change of High Commissioner in August 2013, Mr Vollebaek is no longer my boss.
