Vonnegutt

Vonnegutt are an American Hip Hop/Rock band from Marietta, Georgia, Formed in the early part of 2007. The band consists of Front man/Emcee Kyle Lucas, guitarist/vocalist Neil Garrard, Drummer Taylor White and bassist Patrick Postlewait. The group have made many Ep's aswell an solowork. Thier new album 'Falling up the Stairs' is due to be realeasd in the summer of 2011. Vonnegutt recently performed on theVans Warped Tour inn which they have playeed before. Vonnegutt is named after famed American novelist Kurt Vonnegut who as Lucas stated to me “changed my perspective on everything”.

History Formation 2007-2009 The band formed in 2007 when Emcee Kyle Lucas met up with guitarist Neil Garrard, the two met when Lucas put up a flyer saying "MC starting a band" placed at a guitar centre where Garrard was working. Lucas was solo and had been earning himself a name in Marietta's Hip hop world by releasing several mixtapes his most recent being Its Always Sunny In Marietta which is presented by 2dopeboyz. Mean while Garrard was doing session work with some of the south's biggest names in Rap/R&B such as Kelly Rowland and Dungeon Family 2008 saw the band grow in both size and popularity. Bassist Patrick Postlewait and Drummer Taylor White joined the band, White knowing Garrard since third grade, and Postlewait meeting through a producer. After spending a majority of time in the studio with Producers such as Simon Illa and Billy Hume, Vonnegutt captured a remarkable deal with Big Boi's record label Purple Ribbon Records. Summer 2008 saw the band earn their first coveted spot on Vans Warped Tour in Atlanta

2010-Present 2010 was another successful year for the band after they began in the studio recording with Big Boi, part of the grammy award winning duo Outkast. Vonnegutt Featured on Follow Us single from the album Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty. The band also played at many concerts and festivals, such as Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits Music Festival with artists such asB.o.B, The Clipse and Chiddy Bang. September showed the release of The Appetizer Ep, being a taster of music to come. Kyle Lucas also released an Ep with Captain Midnite named I brought Dead Flowers to a Funeral, A sequel named The Sky is Falling and I'm Fine is due to be released on 2nd August 2011.

2011 brought with it more delite for both Vonnegutt members and fans alike, as they released a new free mixtape labeled $Free.99. The mixtape included new songs and remixes of classics. $Free.99 was an instant success as it featured artists such as Cassadee Pope from Hey Monday, Outasight and Hoodie Allen, remixes included Green Day'sWhen I Come Around, Drake's Find Your Love including many more. Following the success of the mixtape, Vonnegutt joined the Vans Warped Tour 2011 this time staying on from the 24th June 2011 to the 16th July 2011. They played on the 'Kia Kevin Says stage'. During the tour, the fan base grew and on the 15th July 2011 the Facebook page reached 8000 likes. The band also announced that they were puting the finishing touches to the debut album 'Falling up the Stairs'
