Michael David Marcus

    Father Bassist AI programmer. Born July 18th 1963 in Santa Clara CAlifornia. Started playing string bass in 1975 under the direction and zeal of Mrs. Mueller at Gault Middle School in Santa Cruz CAlifornia. Student of Brigham Cooley. 

1981 Received the New England Conservatory Jazz Studies scholarship, while performing in the All-Stars High School Big Band at the Monterey Jazz Festival. Graduated from Berkely High School in 1981. Along with Craig Handy, Benny Green, Dave Tull, Sarah Cline and many others.

1990 Graduated from NEC with academic honors. Student of Miroslav Vitous, Dave Holland, Tiny Martin, Bob Moses. Joseph Maneri and others.

First son, David Terence Marcus born 2/1/1988. Second son, Christopher Joseph Marcus born 10/16/1990. Third son, Nathanael Joseph Marcus born 12/01/2005.

1990- present. Bassist at large. Performing and recording with many artists in Massachusetts and Washington states.

10/07/2010 Met pianist/ vocalist Jose Juicy Gonzales. Joined the JJG Trio in 2010.

2012 First son David Passes.
