Rehoboth Community Water Supply
[edit]A small town about 90km south of Windhoek [1] the capital city of Namibia is Rehoboth, Namibia. This town is supplied with water from Namwater[2] which supplies mostly all of central Namibia with water.
Everything have been going well up to four months ago when Namwater had cut of the water supply to the town. This was due to outstanding bills that was not paid by the Rehoboth Town Council. The big question on many peoples lips is why doesnt the Rehoboth Town council invest in making use of the natural water sources around the town like the Oanob Dam and the hot springs to supply the town with fresh water. With all the money spend sofar on paying Namwater they could have started apipeline system from the Dam into town with some pumps to pump the wter out of the dam.
When the towns water was cut for 3 day in June 2012 all the schools in the town was closed down. This was very upsetting to the inhabbitants of the town. Many people of believe that it is not their responsibility to pay Namwater, but the responsibility of the town council.
