Linda Andrews played by Christine Tremarco, is a staff nurse who first appears on 16 January 2010.[2] She originally arrives as a guest character, and arrives when friend Jessica Harrison (Gillian Kearney), goes into a coma after a accident. After Jessica recovers, Linda leaves with Jessica and her two children Lucas (Danny Emes) and Amelia (Miffy Englefield). Linda returns on 4 June 2011, as a regular character.[3] She returned when Charlie Fairhead (Derek Thompson) was looking for a locum nurse. She was later appointed as the new Clinical Nurse Manager taking over from Tess Bateman (Suzanne Packer), however she later handed Tess her job back and became a staff nurse. Linda becomes involved with drug addict Annie (Naomi Bentley) when she arrives in the hospital.[4] Annie asks Linda for some drugs, so Linda steals them from the hospital and visits Annie's house. When leaving her house, Linda is attacked by Annie's pimp Damon Lynch (Paul Sharma).[5] Damon turns up at the hospital, as Linda previously lied to him about his daughter Evie's parentage and plans to kidnap Evie, putting Linda's job in danger.[6] WHAT HAPPENS AFTER???.
Discussing Linda's return series producer Oliver Kent explained, "Linda has a massive story leading into the new series, where she will find herself getting involved up to her neck in a very dark situation involving a couple of characters. One of those characters is played by Tina O'Brien and the other is played by Naomi Bentley. Linda's desire to help out and do the right thing, albeit in Linda's inimitable and slightly rebellious style, leads her into a little bit of trouble."[7]
“ | Linda is a typical live fast, die young type of woman. Men adore her, attracted by her good looks and strong sense of self, but women love her too because she is the life and soul of the party and a real girl's girl. She is definitely an everywoman and will always fight for the underdog. She loves to party, and hates hard work, but she is an excellent nurse. | ” |
— BBC Online.[8] |
In an interview with Inside Soap in 2012, series producer Nikki Wilson confirmed plans to extend Linda's family by introducing her sister, Denise. She said, "Linda's sister is a recovering drug addict, and they haven't had any contact in years. But Denise suddenly arrives with two kids in tow, and leaves them with Linda. So party girl Linda finds herself responsible for two children - which will affect her working life in a big way".[1] Harris also talked about Linda future storylines, she said, "Lenny and Linda have a really sparky relationship which we'll be exploring towards the end of our current run. That was another one that came out of seeing how the actors spark off each other. So watch this space to see what happens..."[1] Tremarco praised co-stars Devon Beigan and Taylor Parry who play her on-screen niece and nephew, saying they "were wonderful to work with", she carried on saying, "It was lovely to have two little Liverpudlians on the set. Kate McEvoy, who did One Night In Istanbul, plays my sister [Denise] so when you have four Scousers together you automatically get a broader accent. The crew would be like ‘Can I have a bit of clarity?’"[9] She also opined that the storyline was "great".[9]

Dylan Keogh played by William Beck, is a trust doctor that made his first appearance on 12 March 2011. [citation needed]
He and Nick Jordan were both trained by Miriam Turner. She brought Dylan to work at Holby City A&E. Dylan blames himself for the death of Polly Emmerson who was stabbed by a mentally unstable woman who blamed Dylan for the scaring on her face when he had to pull her out of a near igniting bus with a rail stuck in her face. In series 26 a new doctor arrives and it is later revealed that it is Dylan's wife, Sam Nicholls (Keogh).
“ | Shambolic Dylan still lives and acts like a student - even though he's well into his 30s. He exists in picturesque chaos on a house boat. He often gets people's names wrong, and happily makes up stories about his personal life to misdirect people or to get a rise.
He's the ultimate cynic, but when it comes to medicine, he will always pick the unusual cases, rather than the big resus stuff and he loves the Sherlock Holmes aspect to medicine. He doesn't have many loves in his life except for Dervla, his dog, the only female that doesn't try and change him. |
” |
— BBC Online.[10] |
In 2012, after Dylan and Sam got married, Casualty producer Nikki Wilson teased Dylan's relationship with Zoe to Inside Soap saying, "The relationship between Dylan and Zoe is very interesting, because when we first mentioned the obvious chemistry between the pair to the actors who play them [William Beck and Sunetra Sarker], they genuinely had no idea! So in one way it's great that they're not playing it in that way. But we really enjoy their banter, and there's definetly a lot more stuff to happen between them. Whether they'll get together remains to be seen...."[1]

“ | Lloyd wants to be able to change the world one social economic problem at a time. The problem is he often sees the cause rather than the patient. And sometimes his integrity and hot-headedness can get in the way of the best outcome. But he's great with the practical, hands on side of nursing, thinking on his feet and never being shy about coming forward. He's always first in with his big size tens. | ” |
— BBC Online.[11] |
In a interview with Digital Spy in 2011, producer Oliver Kent announced the casting of Michael Obiora as Lloyd Asike. Obiora's casting was announced at the same time as Scarlett Conway (Madeleine Mantock). He said, "We're bringing in two new nurses at the start of the new series - Lloyd Asike and Scarlett Conway. We're very excited about the castings. Lloyd is played by the brilliant Michael Obiora, who viewers will probably know from Hotel Babylon, EastEnders and Grange Hill. He's phenomenal."[12] In 2012, producer Nikki Harris spoke to Inside Soap about whether Lloyd was going to have a relationship with Scarlett. She said, "I couldn't possibly say yet - just keep watching! What's interesting about the pair of characters is the question of identity. Lloyd is from a very strong, cultural black background and is very rooted in his origins, whereas Scarlett was brought up in a white family. So we're really interested in exploring the two differences in indentity between the two."[1]

But that's why she's put herself in this life: she wants to shock herself. She's unsure whether she will make a good nurse, but knows that she'll always have her good looks as a last resort. | ” |

[12] In 2012, producer Nikki Harris spoke to Inside Soap about whether Scarlett was going to have a relationship with Lloyd. She said, "I couldn't possibly say yet - just keep watching! Portrayed by | Charlotte Salt |
Duration | 2011- |

In-universe information | |
Occupation | Core Training, Year 2, Emergency Medicine |

Sam Nicholls played by Charlotte Salt, is Foundation House Officer, a Year 2 doctor who first appeared on 15 October 2011.[citation needed] It was later revealed that she is the wife of Dylan Keogh.
On the 30 September 2011, it was announced that Charlotte Salt was joining Casualty as Sam Nicholls, a new medic. Salt's casting was announced the same time as Tom Kent (Oliver Coleman). The BBC said, "Seen on TV screens earlier this year in Sky's supernatural series Bedlam, Charlotte (26) joins the Casualty cast as ambitious army medic, Sam Nicholls. Fast-living, fearless and fiery, Sam has a surprising link with another member of the ED team." Series producer Nikki Wilson said of her casting: "Charlotte and Oliver are incredibly talented, much sought-after actors and we're delighted to welcome them to the new Casualty set in Cardiff. Both new characters are set to inject a shot of excitement into the emergency department and, as ever, both will have an air of intrigue about them."[14]
“ | Headstrong and fearless, Sam is passionate about saving lives and not afraid to take risks. Before coming to Holby, Sam was an army medic who served in Afghanistan - where she thrived on the adrenaline rush of combat medicine. Sam is a brilliant mate, great to share a pint and banter with, but she’s definitely not one to overshare. | ” |
— BBC Online.[15] |
The BBC also described Sam as a "tomboy", saying she hates " high heels and makeup".[15] In a 2012 interview with Inside Soap, producer Nikki Harris teased Sam's next storyline saying, "Last week Sam restrained a patient, and it's something that will bubble under for the rest of the series. Whether she used excessice force on him becomes the subject of an investigation, and she ends up having to go to a hearing. It puts a huge amount of pressure on the ED because Sam's colleagues feel they must support her, but also have to remain truthful to themselves. Sam moved me to tears when I watched this week episodes."[1]

He takes his responsibility to his patients very seriously and will always go the extra mile for them. However, this responsibility and maturity doesn’t always spill over into his private life – he hates talking about his personal affairs and is something of a playboy. | ” |
— BBC Online.[16] |
In 2012, Casualty producer Nikki Wilson teased the characters upcoming storylines and introduction to the show saying, "Tom's a bit of a commitment-phobe, and we're currently working on his storylines to get to the bottom of why that is - there are some very interesting ideas! In fact, the way he connects with children is set to be a key feature in the stories in which he'll be involved."[1]
