Assignment #3 Edit Wars

[edit]

As mention on Wikipedia Edit warring page, during an edit war the editors overrides each others contribution to a specific page. The editors will undo each others edits and reapply their own edits as oppose to communicating with the other editor and drawing some type of conclusion to the disagreement.

Revert is undoing the actions of another editor There is a three revert rule:

  • You cannot perform more than three revert within a 24hr period.

[edit]

There was an edit war where one editor was undoing another editor contribution. Editor MTYM and 2001:980:a9df:1:64fd:e2ee:9515:ac1a kept undoing each others edits and redoing their own.

  • The editors did not try to resolve the disagreement, creating an edit war.
  • There was several undoing within 24hr+ which goes aganist the three revert rule.

The main arguement was that the source was not valid.

  • Editing policy says that you can improve an article by finding a source for unsource material.

Instead of undoing the edits, the editor could have found a reliable source.
