Article Evaluation

[edit]

The article I chose to read and evaluate was the article on copyrights. The article was very thorough and educational on the history, application, limitations, and criticisms of copyright laws. The article was neutral and informative on the topic. I felt that some of the criticisms to copyrights were not developed enough. The article has 59 citations, the ones I chose to click one seemed to work and present information on the subject. I did not have the opportunity to check all the references and sources, but the ones I did check seemed to be well done and come from reliable sources. Some of the behind the scenes conversations seem to deal with fixing sentences to not be misleading, as well as asking editors for sources on their statements as well as ensuring the information from other links is not repeated redundantly. I was not able to find the rating for the article or to see if it was a part of WikiProjects. The discussion of this project has a more neutral viewpoint than the way that it is discussed in class. In class we are able to discuss whether we agree with certain subjects or not, and are presented with counterarguments from the professors.

Class Wikipedia Edit Project

For my addition to the Yum-Yum Donuts stub. I plan on adding more information about Yum Yum's acquisition of Winchell's Donuts. The only information I could find was a LA times article in 2004 that talked about the upcoming acquisition. There is also a little bit of information about the acquisition in the Yum Yum's website about the acquisition. I plan on talking about when the acquisition happened, how much the acquisition cost, and whether Winchell's donuts was dissolved or turned into a subsidiary.

Post to Yum-Yum Donuts

[edit]

In 1989, Philip Holland retired and sold his share of the company to Frank Watase. The company is currently owned and operated by Frank Watase and Yum-Yum President Lincoln Watase[1].
