This is the user page for Lois Grierson. I am a former teacher and counsellor, and I currently research and write social histories.

I have a particular interest in bringing to light the lives of women whose working lives and identities have been masked by a lack of recognition in the records typically kept by society.

This interest has led me to the Know My Name initiative of the National Gallery of Australia, and a desire to contribute to this initiative by adding information about Australian women artists to Wikipedia.

The award-winning book by Catherine Bishop, author of Minding her own Business. Colonial Businesswomen in Sydney NewSouth Publishing 2015 was instrumental in influencing my own research.

The work of Jim and Sheila Cruthers in establishing the Cruthers Collection of Women's Art in Western Australia has been another source of interest for me in this field.
