The Journal of Language and Literacy Education (JoLLE) is a peer-reviewed, open-access, on-line journal hosted by the Department of Language and Literacy in the College of Education at the University of Georgia. The primary purpose of the Journal of Language and Literacy is to provide a platform to promote the local, national, and international exchange of ideas, practices and research among those concerned with issues in the area of language and literacy. Conceived in 2004 out of a need to give voice to teacher practitioners, researchers and academics, as well as to provide a format for multiple modes of texts, JoLLE's first edition was launched in 2005.

JoLLE publishes reports of research, literature reviews, commentaries, critiques and theoretical analyses on a broad range of issues in language and literacy. As an online publication, JoLLE maintains a general call for papers and provides extensive guidelines for authors on the submission, reviewing, and revision of papers. The journal covers a broad spectrum of topics, dedicating special issues to areas such as Children’s Language and Literacy, Foreign Language Education and Literacy Coaching along with editorials, essays, book reviews and links to relevant blogs and websites.
