Sarah Horton is a fictional character from Days of Our Lives, an American soap opera on the NBC network. Created by Pat Falken Smith, and introduced by Betty Corday and Al Rabin, Sarah is the daughter of Neil Curtis (Joseph Gallison) and Maggie Horton (Suzanne Rogers). In 2018, under head writer Ron Carlivati, the character was reintroduced by Daytime Emmy Award nominee Linsey Godfrey.

Casting

[edit]

In July 2018, it was announced that Daytime Emmy Award nominee Linsey Godfrey had joined the cast as Sarah Horton. First reporting to set in May, Godfrey made her first episodic appearance during the final minutes of the October 26, 2018, episode.[1][2] During a podcast with Soap Opera Digest, Godfrey revealed that actresses Adrienne Frantz, Ashley Jones and Alicia Leigh Willis were also up for the part.[3] Emily O'Brien—who would later join the cast as Gwen—also screentested for the role of Sarah, opposite Greg Vaughan.[4]

Storylines

[edit]

Sarah (Godfrey) returns to Salem in October 2018, alongside her fiancé, Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder). In celebration, Maggie agrees to throw an engagement party for the pair; at the event, held at Doug's Place, it is revealed that Rex slept with ex Mimi Lockhart (Farrah Fath Galfond), which ultimately resulted in the birth of their daughter, Emily. Furious and heartbroken, Sarah ends the engagement and soon begins to build a connection with Rex's half-brother, Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan). As Eric and Sarah begin to grow close, Rex returns to Salem in a bid to win back Sarah. Unsuccessful, Sarah ultimately sleeps with Xander Kiriakis (Paul Tefler) in a drunken state. Heartbroken from Eric's rejection, Sarah agrees to take Rex back.

In May 2020, while on the run with baby Mickey, Sarah runs into Rex in Paris.
