Linden Hyatt is an Australian writer, editor, digital producer and content manager. Born in Cygnet Tasmania in 1962 he was raised and completed and electrical mechanics apprenticeship in west coast Tasmanian mining town of Rosebery and moved to Sydney, Australia in 1981. He has completed bachelor and masters degrees in communications (1989) and writing (2003) both at the University of Technology, Sydney, and worked in restaurants while a student (as a waiter, cook and kitchen manager) and as a hotel porter. Other occupations have included arts administration, as a long-time co-organiser of a literary reading series called Writers in The Park, the Sydney suburb of Glebe, and as co-ordinator and then director of the Sydney Writers Festival 1990–1992 and the Carnivalé/Dis-Unities Writers week in 1991-1992. He also helped found the NSW Writers' Centre as its first secretary and public officer. Linden Married the travel writer and teacher Margo Daly and has two children, Lila and Aidan. He became a Wikipedia editor ostensibly to upload Creative Commons materials to Wikimedia as part of the website project (as project manager) English for the Australian Curriculum. Other websites that Linden has built and/or established as project manager include Global Words: English and Geography for Global Citizenship Education and Reading Australia. Linden also built the digital repository for the Primary English Teaching Association (PETAA) in the period of a longer term consultancy.
