Ingrid Shikova is a Bulgarian social scientist and one of the founders of European Studies in Bulgaria.

Biography

Ingrid Shikova, Professor at Sofia University ‘St. Kliment Ohridski’ is one of the founders of European Studies in Bulgaria. In 2009 she was decorated for her contribution to the development of European studies in Bulgaria with the highest distinction of the University - an honorary sign with a blue ribbon. An expert in the area of EU policies, Professor Shikova has devoted her entire professional career to European integration and written several authoritative textbooks on European integration in Bulgarian. She has specialized abroad at the College of Europe in Bruges, the University of Limerick, Ireland, the Netherlands Economic Institute in Rotterdam, the Institute of World Economy in Kiel, Germany, and the Royal Institute of International Relations in London. Professor Shikova has been Director of the Centre for European Studies as well as Director of the Information Centre of the Delegation of the European Commission and adviser to the European Commission Representation in Bulgaria.[1]
