Les AuCoin and his wife of 44 years, Sue AuCoin, divide their time between Ashland, Oregon and Bozeman, Montana.

An avid fly fisherman, AuCoin has fished some of the major trout and steelhead waters of North America, including the Rogue, Umpqua, John Day, Deschutes, and Metolius rivers in Oregon, the Gallatin, Madison, Missouri, Yellowstone rivers and Thompson Creek in Montana, the Green River in Utah, the Snake River in Wyoming, and the Miramichi in New Brunswick, Canada,

The AuCoin's have two children, Kelly AuCoin (Oberlin College '91), a stage and screen actor who lives in Brooklyn, New York, and Stacy AuCoin Lee (B.A., Smith College ('90), M.S. in clinical social work (Smith College of Social Work '93), a cultural researcher who lives in Bozeman, Montana.
