About me

[edit]

Hello, I'm Laughingdog. Previously known as freak_experiment around the net. I am happily married with twin daughters, who are slowly whittling away my sanity (happily though, mind you). I haven't really made many edits, the ones I have made have been for grammatical reasons, although sometimes when I make them I'm not logged in as I log on to wikipedia from multiple locations throughout the day. Categories I feel I am sufficiently knowledgable in to make edits or create new articles would be: Video Games, Music, Musical Instruments, and Computer Software.

Interests

[edit]

Music would be my number one interest, with Video Games and Art in all forms following behind. Music plays a central role in my life whether it be playing drums/guitar live or working on various visual projects. Search youtube for user Blindlaughingdog to check out my drumming and guitar work. When it comes to video games, I've been playing them for over 20 years now and have no preference when it comes to platform whether it's a console or computer. I tend to lean towards Action/Adventure, although I will play Platformers, RPGS, Sports, Racing, etc. As long as the game is fun and shows a dedication to quality from the developer, I will play it. Concerning art, I am currently developing 2 comics as well as a 3D animated epic.

A-Type

[edit]

"A-type" is the name of a comic I'm currently co-developing with a friend. It will be an online comic about games, gaming culture, computers, the internet, music, and everyday life in the 21st century. The format will be a basic 3-4 panel style. A date hasn't been set yet for the first comic, but it's being worked on every day if you're interested.

DOG

[edit]

"Dog" is the current working title for the upcoming first entry in my sci-fi epic (I only use that term to describe the overall size of the work, not the quality. That is for the general public to decide). It will be both in illustrated and 3D animated formats. The visual novel version will come first so it will serve as the basis by which we will develop the 3D version. They will essentially cover the same the story, but the illustrated version will be more stylized, and the 3D version will be more realstic in art style. So far, 5 parts have been conceptualized (DOG being the first), but many more will come afterwards. I don't believe in using a particular character for too long so there will be many main characters over the course of the entire story, each with their own definite closure. As of this moment, we're planning on making all of the music for the animation ourselves, but that is subject to change as time goes by. The underlying platform for the animation will be the Source Engine with our own custom models and environments. I would like to write my own engine for personal achievement, but the most important thing is the story and time. It will take some time to get to that point, but we are planning on having spoken dialogue throughout the entire animation, so there will be a need for competent, emotionally-engaging voice actors. A specific timeline as to when either the visual novel or the animation will be finished isn't possible, but we do have a deadline. The final date that we would like to have the first 5 parts completed (hopefully sooner!) is September 14, 2019. Both the comics and animations will be completely free. The overall theme will be about war, but there will be many other themes such as the negative effects of drugs on society, love and loss, children, romance, and the bond shared by a father and daughter (which I feel doesn't get portrayed enough). If you'd like a more in-depth summary or have any questions about these projects please leave a message on my talk page or email me.
