Lao-ke: Born in England in mid-1940s; gained degree in Civil Engineering from Aberdeen University (Scotland) 1967. Emigrated to Australia 1970. Resident in Beijing, China, since mid-1990s. Career spent in the grain storage, handling and transportation industry covering both Australia and China. Special interest "modern steam" rail traction and genealogy.

Wikipedia contributions include Hill Brow Preparatory School for Boys, 5AT Advanced Technology Steam Locomotive, the Suakin-Berber Railway, the Institution of Locomotive Engineers and The Rio Turbio Railway, Argentina.

I plan to add pages on the following subjects:

  • "Cressey's" infant school of Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset, England, which closed its doors around 1959;
  • "Crombie Hall", the first Hall of Residence at Aberdeen University;
  • "Grain Handling Authority of Queensland", sometimes known as the "State Wheat Board", "Bulk Grains Queensland" and "Graincorp";
