About me

[edit]

I'm a student from Everett community school. I'm from China. This is my second term here. Since English is my second language, I am still trying to learn English. I love Marvel movies. I won't miss a single one. One of my favorite characters is Spider-Man[1]. He is a character who silently offers help to ordinary people. EXO is my favorite group of stars, they give me a lot of encouragement to keep me going.

My Wikipedia activities

[edit]

Wikipedia is a new site for me because I've never used it before. But through the teacher's explanation, I think wikipedia is a very interesting website. Because it allows anyone to edit any information, if a website has what you know, you can add what you know about it. My first foray into wikipedia was to write my own resume. I'll also search for things I'm interested in, and if I can, add my own knowledge.

Article evaluation

[edit]

I visited the Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief page on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: are any of links dead, is the article up-to-date, and whether there are unrelated chapters or sentences.

There are many fact links in this page, and clicking on each link will reveal a new information page. For example, I clicked on the actor who played Percy Jackson: Logan Lerman. The page shows me Logan Lerman, his date of birth, his location, his family background, what he did and so on. If I click on the author of the novel, Rick Riordan, it will show the life of Rick Riordan. On his introduction page, there are more books, what works he has written and what awards he has won. I clicked on all the links on the page to show me a new page with new information, so every link is valid.

The film was released in 2010, but I saw a final revision date at the bottom, which read: this page was last revised at 11:00 on January 18, 2020, so it can be seen that the article is not up to date, but it has been revised recently. I also noticed its references, some of which are mostly from around 2010, and the closest ones are from 2015. It can be seen that this article first appeared several years ago, but people have been making modifications to this article, so the last revision date shown is January 18, 2020.

The catalog on this page shows the plot, characters, production, release, soundtracks, video games, indie sequels, notes, references, and external links. I think all of this is related to the movie, even the video game is based on the movie. In the soundtrack, all the songs are from the movie. But if you look at each of them, there are some sentences that are not relevant to the movie. In the area of video games, for example, there is a sentence that has nothing to do with movies. It roughly means combining several articles to rate the game, with an average score of 56. All in all, there is basically nothing on this page that is not related to the movie.

After reading this page, I found that there were no invalid links in this page. Although the article was not published recently, it was revised recently. Although there were a few words unrelated to the movie, most of the content was related to the movie. I hope you know the movie and enjoy it.
