Your GA nomination of German submarine U-335

[edit]

The article German submarine U-335 you nominated as a good article has failed ; see Talk:German submarine U-335 for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of the article. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Ed! -- Ed! (talk) 20:42, 7 April 2019 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – April 2019

[edit]

News and updates for administrators from the past month (March 2019).

Technical news

Miscellaneous

  • Two more administrator accounts were compromised. Evidence has shown that these attacks, like previous incidents, were due to reusing a password that was used on another website that suffered a data breach. If you have ever used your current password on any other website, you should change it immediately. All admins are strongly encouraged to enable two-factor authentication, please consider doing so. Please always practice appropriate account security by ensuring your password is secure and unique to Wikimedia.
  • As a reminder, according to WP:NOQUORUM, administrators looking to close or relist an AfD should evaluate a nomination that has received few or no comments as if it were a proposed deletion (PROD) prior to determining whether it should be relisted.

Help

[edit]

Hello sir, @L293D:

Sir I would like to raise a friendly request to you to do the assessment about this articles which I recently created ABCD – American Born Confused Desi,Boss – Baap of Special Services,Firrkie,I M 24,Sab Kushal Mangal,Section 375,Sridevi Bungalow. I can assure that they fulfill the policy and WP:N. But then also check whether this article comply with WP:N, if they do not fulfill the criteria then please move this articles to draft space so that I work on it otherwise they would be deleted by any Wikipedia administrator. It would be a great help sir if you accept my request and kindly do the assessment of the articles. It would build the confidence booster for new editor. AR.Dmg (talk) 04:10, 16 April 2019 (UTC)

DYK for HMS Splendid (P228)

[edit]

On 21 April 2019, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article HMS Splendid (P228), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that HMS Splendid attacked a heavy German merchant ship, but instead sank an Italian destroyer? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/HMS Splendid (P228). You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, HMS Splendid (P228)), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

#MeToo listed at Redirects for discussion

[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect #MeToo. Since you had some involvement with the #MeToo redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you wish to do so. UnitedStatesian (talk) 02:42, 26 April 2019 (UTC)

Question

[edit]

I came across this today and would like to know why you've moved it into the "In Memoriam" section implying that Coffee is dead. Please elaborate. Thanks Praxidicae (talk) 14:32, 30 April 2019 (UTC)

I'm sure that you noticed that Coffe is retired. I mistook the "In memoriam" section for retired users, but it seems that it was actually for deceased users. Sorry for that. L293D ( • ) 18:40, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
