My contributions are solely to improve the quality of Wikipedia as a free, informative encyclopedia.

My interests are quite eclectic, even random.

I obtained a Masters of Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign through the LEEP Programin December 2006. As an undergraduate, I double majored in Biology and Mathematics at Austin College.

Although I grew up in Texas, I now live in Chicago-land (Illinois).

Caveat Lector

[edit]

I am mildly dyslexic when I write (or type) and apologize in advance for any mistakes you may have had to correct. My form of dyslexia extends to phonemes. So, although I know that "when" and "went" or "then" and "that" or "by" and "but" aren't the same words, sometimes they are when I write. If something I've written makes no sense, try reading it out loud and you may realize what I meant.

Please do not send me messages written like "U R gr8". Because I can't hear phonemes, I can't sound out words. (I read very quickly, but I do it more by pattern-matching than phonemes.) Thus, it takes me a long time to figure out what "cute" writing says. If you desire to praise (or insult) me, please do it in standard English.  :-)

My tendency to fix grammar and other mistakes I may notice also arises from the jarring impact such typos/erros have on my abitility to read. So, I won't take offense when you correct my spelling if you don't take offense when I correct your grammar.  ;-)
