Martha Matilda Harper:

Early Years:

Her parents are Robert and Beadie Harper.

Martha Matilda Harper didn’t receive a lot of formal education as a young child.

Worked for a minister and a physician as a servant

Learned to respect scientific principles from the physician which benefitted her while making the hair tonic. 

She started making the tonic in the shed of where she was working as a servant.

Company:

Used her hair tonic on herself to advertise

Initiated the concept of a professional salon because previously hairdressers made visits to homes. Her salon was franchised, and each franchise was run by a women.

Each women owned the salon and Martha would train and provide insurance to them.

Her first franchise was in Buffalo NY.

She hired former severance girls to staff her salon

Legacy and Death:

Haper also liked cooking, travel, and golf. 

She was a member of Rochester Country Club and Oak Hill Country Club. 

She also studied at University of Rochester for a few classes.

She helped other servants live the american dream by hiring them as staff or allowing franchising.

At time of her death there were over 350 shops.

Her gravesite is at Riverside Cemetery, Rochester NY.

Maxwell Bodden (07/15/2001 - 01/19/2017) Maxwell was know for his incredible talent of , anytime and anywhere. He holds his communities record for longest hang time on a tree branch.

Biography

Maxwell Bodden was from New York City, NY. He was born on was sunny summer day, July 15th, 2001. He was born into a big clan of koalas that were known to be the most dominant group in the surrounding area. As time went of he learned the tricks of the trade form the best of the best. His favorite pastime was napping and his favorite food was the leaves from cherry, tea, and eucalyptus trees.

Maxwell was known for being able to nap, anywhere or anytime. He could always be spotted hanging from a tree branch sleeping the day away. He currently holds the record for the longest hang time, making everyone in his clan extremely proud. He credits these accomplishments to the diligent elders in his clan who taught him everything he knows.

Through his 16 years, he lived a fulfilling life. He was able to learn from the best, practice and improve his skills, and teach the younger generation. He inspired all by his dedication to constant sleeping and long hang periods. In his old age, he grew weak. One day, during one of his exceptionally long hangs, his arms grew weak and tired, and he fell crashing to the ground. This tragic accident took his life. He will always be remembered by his admiring clan.
