Jeremiah “Boogie” Knight is a professional wide receiver for the Asahi Challengers of the X league. Boogie was born January 12th 1999 in Ashtabula Ohio. He played College football for the Akron Zips (2018-2020) and for the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks (2021-2022). Knight started his career as a walk on.

Early Life- Boogie Knight was raised only by his mother Dana Knight, after his father passed away when he was 10 years old. He attended Jefferson Area High School and graduated in 2017. Throughout his high school career Knight broke every school record and county record a running back could break. He was the first person to rush for 2000 yards in a season in Ashtabula county history. He leads the county in career rushing yards with 5900 yards. Knight became an immediate impact on varsity as a freshman where he ended the season with 750 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns and over 1000 all purpose yards, earning second team all county honors. In his sophomore season Knight rushed for 1316 yards and being named first team all county. Knight broke the school rushing record his junior season finishing the year with 1593 yards and broke the single game record with 336 yards rushing, this time Knight was the offense of player of the year in the county and awarded 3rd team all state. Knight would go on to shatter his own records his senior year, amassing 2300 yards rushing, have 2 games over 360 yards rushing and 5 touchdowns, and averaged 11.1 yards a carry. Knight became the County player of the year, the district player of the year, and first team all state as a running back. Knight also was selected to play in the North-South All star game. Knight held offers from Marshall, Akron, eastern Kentucky, Youngstown State, Dayton, and valpo. But decided to attend Ohio State as a preferred Walk on.

College Career- Boogie Knight attended Ohio state for the 2017 season but was sidelined during fall camp with a season ending injury. Knight participated in Spring ball for the Buckeyes but elected to transfer to The University of Akron. As a freshman Knight was the starting Return man and eventually cracked into the starting lineup later in the season as a receiver. Knight finished the season with 9 catches for 150 yards, over 300 kick return yards and over 150 punt return yards averaging 12 yards a return, and having one for a touchdown of 70 yards against Eastern Michigan. Knight was named most outstanding Freshman by the coaches. In 2019 Knight took on a starting role for the Zips and finished the season with 32 catches for 432 yards, having 2 games over 100 yards. In 2020 during the Covid season the Zips only played 6 games and Knight made the switch to running back due to injuries. He finished the season with 30 Carrie’s for 194 yards. Knight transferred to ULM for the 2021 season. He went on to have a break out year for the Warhawks leading the team in receptions (46), yards (588) first downs (29), explosive plays (18) and touchdowns (3). Knight went on to be named 2nd team all sunbelt by PFF and 3rd team all sunbelt by the coaches. Knight was selected to the preseason all sunbelt team, but suffered a concussion week 1 against Texas. He missed multiple games his senior year. Finishing the season with only 180 yards.

Professional Career- Boogie Knight broke the bench record for receivers at his pro day with 29 reps. Surpassing Brandon marshal (28) and DK Metcalf (27). Knight ran a 4.65 forty and a 4.22 shuttle, and jumped a 34 inch vertical. Knight went undrafted in the 2023 NFL draft. Shortly after the draft the Asahi Challengers signed Him the a contract to play professional football in the X League, in Japan.

Personal Life - Boogie Knight currently lives in Osaka Japan. He has 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
