Cacoscelis nigripennis is a species of flea beetle in the family Chrysomelidae. It was first described by Martin Jacoby[1]
Description
[edit]Adults have a black body, bright red head and thorax. They are usually 10mm long and range beetwen 5mm and 4mm wide.
Host plants
[edit]They are well known for feeding on Passiflora caerulea[2], being one of the main problems for the plant when they are in large groups.
Distribution
[edit]Cacoscelis nigripennis inhabit mainly in South America [2]although, they are also present in Mexico[1]
