Palestine

[edit]

Palestine, officially known as the State of Palestine, is a country in West Asia, with partial recognition. Located in the Levantine region of the Middle East, Palestine officially consists of two non-contiguous territories — the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. The West Bank borders with Jordan to the east and Israel from north, south and west. While the Gaza Strip is bordered by Israel from north and east, Egypt by south and Mediterranean Sea by west. Home to around 5.5 million peoples, Palestine is considered as an Arab country, which is considered as a homeland for 14.3 million peoples.

Historically Palestine lies in Holy Land (Eretz Israel or Al-Ard Al-Muqaddasah), which is considered sacred among Christians, Muslims and Jews. The historic core centered around cities of Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Hebron, are holy cities among Abrahamic religions.
