The 2017 VMI Keydets baseball team represented the Virginia Military Institute during the 2017 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Keydets competed as members of the Southern Conference for the third consecutive year, following an eleven-year stint in the Big South from 2003 to 2014. The team was led by head coach Jonathan Hadra in his third year with the program.

Personnel

VMI lost just only two starters from the 2016 team that went 21–35 overall and 4–20 in the Southern Conference, third baseman David Geary and second baseman Nathan Eaton. All other position players, as well as the three weekend starters, returned.
