The sky is (roughly) the part of the atmosphere or of outer space visible from the surface of the earth[citation needed] (or any other astronomical object; see Extraterrestrial skies).[citation needed] Birds, insects, airplanes, and kites are often considered to fly in the sky.[citation needed] It is difficult to define precisely for several reasons. During daylight the sky has the appearance of a deep blue surface,[citation needed] but this is the result of the air scattering sunlight. [1] There is no "blue object" above the earth in any normal sense, so it is hard to say what object the sky is. The sky is thus sometimes defined as the denser gaseous zone of a planet's atmosphere.[citation needed] At night the sky has the appearance of a black surface or region scattered with stars.[citation needed] But if we then say that the sky is the entire visible universe, it would not be the same thing we see during the day.[citation needed]

Nazi involvements in fashion

[edit]

Kenny Howard, the posthumous namesake of fashionable clothing manufacturer Von Dutch, declared himself to be a Nazi, often seen wearing a shirt emblazoned with a swastika and the words "We lost". He was known to have the trappings of a neo-Nazi. Yet, some have conversely said that this was all part of Von Dutch's offensive humor.[citation needed]

Coco Chanel had an affair with a Nazi Officer, and is believed to have had sympathies.[citation needed]

Hugo Boss manufactured uniforms for the Schutzstaffel (SS).[citation needed]

Christian Dior spent much of World War II making dresses for the wives of German officers, although he had fought for France until the occupation of Paris.[citation needed]
