Ningombam Bupenda Meitei (born 6 April 1987) is an Indian English writer and poet and is currently an independent political researcher [1] in the Indian National Congress Party .

Early life

Ningombam Bupenda Meitei was born in Imphal, Manipur to the descendant of the Maharaja Kullachandra of Manipur[citation needed] whose royal throne was recognised by the Viceroy of India, Lord Lansdowne.[2] . His father is a civil servant in the state. He studied at Don Bosco High School, Imphal, Sainik School Imphal[3],Kendriya Vidyalaya Lamphelpat and St. Stephen's College, Delhi.

Career

Bupenda Meitei started composing poems at the age of seven in his own mother tongue, Meitei language writing in a Bengali script. Since his school days ,he has been with his poems and writings in English particularly. Besides writing,oratory was his great skill in making him a students' leader in his schools.He started a life of physics teacher in Dehradun at the age of 22 but left the formal teaching to focus in works for the Indian National Congress Party. His collection of poems have been published in E-Pao.net and articles in The Imphal Free Press [4] .
