Revised paragraph from article
[edit]Former Queens Consort whose husbands had died sometimes only wore their consort crowns as circlets after their husbands' death. Alexandra of Denmark (Queen Alexandra, widow of Edward VII of the United Kingdom), Mary of Teck (Queen Mary, widow of King George V of the United Kingdom) and Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon (Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, widow of King George VI of the United Kingdom) all followed this practice.[citation needed]

Original Contribution
[edit]Circlets often came in a lot of different sizes depending on how the Queen wanted it. Crowns during the early medieval period were simple and set with only a few choice jewels. [3] They also had a lot of different patterns depending on how man jewels and the scheme of circlet was set. Circlets were a big part of British fashion back in the Medieval times.
