Tramontina is a Brazilian metallurgical company based in the city of Carlos Barbosa, Rio Grande do Sul.

The company was founded by Valentin Tramontina in 1911[1], son of Italian immigrants from the village of Poffabro, town of Frisanco, in the Friuli region of northeast Italy.[2].

Today Tramontina is one of the most important companies of southern Brazil, having ten decentralized plants, eight in Rio Grande do Sul, in the cities of Carlos Barbosa, Farroupilha, and Garibaldi, one in Belém, Pará, and the other in Recife, Pernambuco.

In these ten factories, the company currently produces more than 17,000 items intended for different segments - cookware, tableware, cutlery, knives, stainless steel kitchen tools, tools for agriculture, construction, and gardening, and highly specialized hand tools, as well as wooden and plastic tables and chairs, sinks, tubs, stovetops, vitro grills, hoods, and electric ovens. The company also operates in the market for electronic materials for home installation and also produces custom forged materials. With this product mix it also has a strong presence in the international market, exporting to more than 120 countries.

In the domestic market, the company has six distribution centers - in Carlos Barbosa, São Paulo, Goiânia, Bahia, Recife, and Belém, and four Regional Sales Offices - in Porto Alegre, Curitiba, Rio de Janeiro, and Belo Horizonte, strategically situated in order to ensure maximum agility in the delivery of products, such that they are always within reach of customers.

Outside, there are ten Distribution Centers - United States, Germany, Mexico, Columbia, and Chile, and three Sales Offices - Peru, France, and the United Arab Emirates, forming an efficient distribution system.

With regard to its employees, it has a turnover below average, a fact it credits to its constant investment in professional training for its more than 7000 employees and the appreciation of "home-grown talent". Commitment to quality and social responsibility go together with Tramontina.

The current president is businessman Clovis Tramontina.

Tramontina also sponsors soccer teams. Among the largest are Grêmio, Internacional, River Plate, and Peñarol. In futsal, it sponsors Carlos Barbosa's Associação Carlos Barbosa de Futsal (ACBF), the largest futsal team in Brazil.
