ZAKIRAI

Zakirai town is the local Government headquarter of Gabasawa and about 45 kilometers East from Kano state. While boarder with Jigawa, the famous town is situated along Hadejia road. The neighbouring town and villages close to Zakirai are Gunduwa in the west, Dangage in the east, Chikawa in the north and Wailare in the south. According to Zakirai progressive forum, Zakirai has a population of 95,000 as at 2010. Farmers are 60% while civil servants 40%. Zakirai market is popularly known across the state and neighboring countries like like Nijar, in exporting farm products more especially pepper, sugar cane and tomatoes.
