Kakaraparti Bhavanarayana College (KBN College)[1] is an educational institution established in 1965, located in Kothapeta, Vijayawada-1, Andhra Pradesh[2], India. The college gained autonomy in 2010 and is affiliated with Krishna University[3], Machilipatnam.

History

KBN College was sponsored by the SKPVV Hindu High School Committee[4] and founded with the efforts of individuals such as Usirika Jaganmohana Rao and Koppuravuri Satyanarayana. The foundation was inaugurated by the Chief Minister Shri Kasu Brahmananda Reddy on 6 November 1964. The college began its operations in June 1965 with an initial enrollment of 220 students and 15 teachers. The campus covers an area of approximately 4.11 acres.

Infrastructure

The college infrastructure includes a Central Library with a collection of 76,701 books and 3,828 e-Journals. It also features playgrounds, a gymnasium, and an open-air theatre, Kalanikethan, with a seating capacity of 2,500.

Awards and Recognition

KBN College received the NAAC 'A++' grade in 2024 and the CPE status in 2016. The college has been recognized for its laboratory facilities, academic achievements, library resources, and NSS unit.
