Mock writes her book is about her personal experience as a trans woman of color[1]. In the author’s note she writes she is aware of her privilege in writing this book and telling her story[2]. Her story is not written with the intent of being representation for all trans women and trans women of color, it is one story out of many[3]. She states in the author’s note, “There is no universal women’s experience” [4]
