The Super Mario Bros. 2 Movie is in development at Illumination and Nintendo, the film should be made official by Nintendo and Illumination between 2024 - 2026, Shigeru Miyamoto has been talking with Chris Meledandri for some time.
Yoshi will have an important role in this sequel, Nintendo is currently working on the live-action film The Legend Of Zelda but once this film is finished, they will focus on Super Mario Bros. 2 Movie.
The release date will be between 2026 and 2029, according to sources close to Illumination.
