Joseph Campanelli (1998 - present) is a current student attending the Rochester Institute of Technology for Game Design and Development. He is in his first year, rooming in the Nathaniel Rochester Hall. Campanelli was part of the award-winning Nazareth Area Blue Eagle Marching Band throughout all 4 years of his high school career playing the euphonium. He has also worked for Campanelli and Sons Landscaping, his father's business. Campanelli dreams of one day working as a famous game designer for a big name video game company.
Biography[edit]
Joseph Campanelli was born in Nazareth, Pennsylvania on May 12, 1998. Growing up, he played video games at an early starting age of 3. His mother credits his early reading development to his video gaming habits in his toddler years. His parents divorced in late 2006, and he stayed in Nazareth with his father while his mother lived in Allentown, PA. Growing up, he attended Bushkill Elementary School from 2003 to 2009, Nazareth Area Intermediate School from 2009-2010, Nazareth Area Middle School from 2010-2012, and Nazareth Area High School from 2012 to 2016. His college application was accepted by the Rochester Institute of Technology in late 2015, where he currently studies.
Musical Experiences[edit]
Joseph Campanelli joined his elementary school co-ed chorus group in third grade and performed every winter chorus concert. In 7th grade, he picked up the euphonium and joined the middle school concert band. After attending middle school, he played euphonium for the Nazareth Area Blue Eagle Marching Band, his high school's highly competitive and successful marching band. During his junior year in 2014, the marching band won first place at the USBands national competition, while only able to place 3rd the other 3 years he participated in.[1]
Personal Life[edit]
On top of playing the euphonium, Joseph Campanelli has also taken a beginner piano course during his senior year of high school. Campanelli has been a Roman Catholic his whole life. He is a member of the Newman Community at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Campanelli is also a member of the Anime Club and the Smash Club. His favorite anime is Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and his Smash mains are Yoshi and Greninja. Campanelli has been in a committed relationship since November 2014.
