Analysis of Article
[edit]After reading the Wikipedia article about Hunt of a Lifetime, I understand that there are multiple issues with this article. There isn't enough information inside of this article. I plan to add more information to this article and give the reasoning on why this organization was created.
- Hunt of A Lifetime is a nonprofit organization that helps, children fulfill their dreams of going on an amazing hunt. These children have or have had life-threatening diseases.
- The President of this organization is Tina Pattison. Her son, Matt Pattison, was one of the many kids who had a life-threatening illness. He loved to hunt and fish. He had a dream hunt he had always wanted to go on, so his mom, Tina Pattison, started a fundraiser for him so that he could go on that dream hunt of his. In the Fall of 1998, they found Matt's dream hunt, which was a moose hunt.

Revised paragraph from article
[edit]Original
[edit]In 1998, Hunt of a Lifetime founder Tina Pattison decided to grant the wish of her stepson, Matt, diagnosed with lymphoma, and began to raise money for a moose-hunting trip. Matt was 19 and too old to qualify for help from the Make-A-Wish Foundation. However, Pattison successfully raised enough money to send him on the trip thanks to funds from various hunters and hunting-supply companies in the US and Canada.[1] In 1999, Matt died of lymphoma. In that same year, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, responding to criticisms from animal rights groups and concerns over child safety, ceased granting hunting-related wishes. Cash donations collected at Matt's funeral were used to start the foundation.
Revised
[edit]In 1998, Hunt of a Lifetime founder Tina Pattison decided to grant the wish of her stepson, Matt, diagnosed with lymphoma. Matt was 19 and too old to qualify for help from the Make-A-Wish Foundation, so Mrs. Pattison started raising money for him to go on his dream hunt. This organization is nonprofit, and is used to help kids with life-threatening illnesses who want to go on a dream hunt. Today, Ted Nugent, is now the Director of Spirit for Hunt of A Lifetime. He is a host for kids that are battling a terminal disease. The support from the parents is unimaginable. These people love their kids and would hate to see them go. This organization will give these kids a once in a lifetime opportunity, taking them out on hunts and getting a trophy animal. You see, it's not only about getting a trophy animal; it's about the experience and meeting new people.
