I'm an OLD doofus
For years Wikipedia has been my go to source for information. I come here everyday.
My thing is History
"I don’t know when my love of history began but I do remember being 8 or 9 years old, scrapping 14 cents together (for the ferry from Algiers and back), lying about where I’d be all afternoon, and walking to the ferry and down to the French Quarter, and basking in history for an hour or two. I think it was on one of my trips that I stood by the 12 pounder Napoleon cannon enthralled by the facade of the original Washington Artillery Armory just across the street from Jackson Square that later inspired me to lie about my age and join the Washington Artillery from which I retired 38 years later. Somewhere along the way I was no longer satisfied to learn WHAT happened but needed to learn WHY it happened. Ever since I’ve approached every historic thing that captured my attention and just had to discover why it happened. Natchez captured my interest more than 40 years ago on the corner of Washington and Wall when I felt for the first time in decades that feeling I had as a child in the Quarter of being surrounded by history. I’ve been obsessed ever since."
In the process of creating a website Natchez History in WikipediaI found that a significant place in Natchez (a place with many significant places) had no Wikipedia article so I just submitted one. Forks of the Road Natchez
Keep your fingers crossed!
That quote is from Natchez Commentary
I also have a site Natchez History Web Directory
