Background

John Jex was born in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, United Kingdom on 8th August 1969 and grew up in Dronfield, Derbyshire.

He completed a degree in Applied Chemistry at Coventry University in 1991.

He worked as a freelance radio presenter, beginning on student station W963, and later moving to Radio Harmony in Coventry.

He pursued a full time career in the chemical industry, working for National Starch & Chemical, TR Oil Services, Sichem, BASF and Clariant.

During his career he has lived and worked in Oman, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, China, Indonesia and the United Kingdom. He is married with 2 children and now lives in Aberdeen, United Kingdom.
