JohnTheSupercargo
I am an Englishman resident in Gothenburg, Sweden.
I am a teacher, writer, translator and illustrator by profession.
My tastes are catholic and my interests are wide. I believe firmly in life-long learning, and the day I stop learning things will be the day after I die. (Or not even then, depending on what happens I suppose. :-) )
Currently I'm mostly interested in Wikipedia articles on British history of the Later Tudor period (Elizabeth and the "little Tudors" - Mary and Edward). This is because I am researching a novel based in the period. I also dip into articles across the board in the English and Swedish language versions as part of my other work. I expect to be updating and adding to articles especially on history, but also articles with a Swedish and Scandinavian connection.
I have edited and contributed in a minor capacity earlier as an anonymous contributor, but have decided to get more involved as I see how Wikipedia has improved - and I want to help it get even better.
I am an educated native speaker and user of British English. I read Swedish to an academic level with fair fluency, speak and understand spoken Swedish well, but avoid writing in the language unless I have to.
This is my first user page - so very much of an experiment.
My own homepage is at www.thesupercargo.com
