This IP is a proxy I used for short time (less than a day), before I created an account. Cheers. Joey Q. McCartney 06:29, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

Hello.

Please avoid using open proxies with defective backslash handling, as this causes vandalism to articles. -- Curps 10:19, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

I didn't know that, and I appreciate Curps' politeness about it. Joey Q. McCartney 12:22, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

Well I'm glad you decided to sign on. I don't edit the advocacy article; I try to keep my distance from that arena. But I would be interested in constructive criticism at P. Comments like the ones you left initially at these articles that ask for changes by slashing information are not helpful at all. They may be appreciated at other, less-controversial articles, but when it's done in controversial places, it looks very close to trolling. And note that I am not in any way a "policeman" of any of these articles, no one is, and anyone is free to challenge anything. I am interested in constructive criticism though, as there are many complaints, but few that seem to say anything useful. When you are just an IP, or a redlink with previous edits using a red IP that has only two edits, it looks like a vandal; that's why I tagged the userpages with the IP. I didn't think I'd ever see you again. I guess that's my primary reason for this message. I saw you returned to the avocacy article with some decent ideas, and that's more of what I am after. Wikpedia is a shit-heap, but at least it's a shit-heap that allows things to be challenged, which is more than I can say for many things on the Internet. I take a long time to evaluate the sources I use, and I think people expect too much from Internet sources, often using them as a quickie substitute for old-fashioned hard work research.

I hope you'll accept my apologies for any terse comments; I find this medium of communication awkward and at times jump the gun with my mouth. However, I don't mean that to excuse any offense taken. Have a nice day, and please feel free to message me for help with anything regarding WIkipedia. --DanielCD 23:50, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

No problem. I might refer you to Herostratus. He, as I, would like to see changes that address the bias that people are complaining about, but from within the system, not striking it head on. The Internet is a cess-pool of people selling everthing from material goods to political ideas, and Wikipedia is no different. But, even if it's for no other reason than the fact that I enjoy it and like the idea of having ideas open to challenge, I want it around. I don't know if this project will get off the ground, but the effort is being made.
So much for a quick/short reference to a page. Cheers! --DanielCD 00:12, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
