A Prehistoric Carol is a upcoming holiday film based on Charles Dickens's classic story. It's about a miserable dinosaur named Carnotaur, that doesn't believe in the holiday spirit. The film will be filmed using motion capture and the real world. It will star V.G and Justin Bell. The film will start production in September 20, 2010. The film will be released in Disney Digital 3D and IMAX 3D on November 6, 2013.
Development
[edit]Director V.G. had thought of the story for over seven years. Finally, on July 21, 2010 a script had been started to be written. When it was complete the crew had auditions. When the casting was complete the filming started.
Plot
[edit]The film opens in the year 2010, as a miserable dinosaur named Carnotaur is signing off the burial of his recently deceased friend. When the undertaker asks for tip, Carnotaur hesitates to give him a single coin. He walks out of the undertaker’s shop and a portal opens. He steps into it and back into the prehistoric age. The next opens as a dinosaur prince, named Freddie runs to join his friends, Tom and Max. The run to join the annual winter races. Whoever wins the race, gets to have a cave all to himself along with two friends. Freddie wins the race and is joined by Tom and Max to admire their prize. Suddenly, Carnotaur blasts out of the cave chasing the kids all the way to the center of the kingdom, The Nesting Grounds. When he asks for the king, King Aladar steps forth. Carnotaur makes a speech to the king and king’s subjects that he will be taking over. Aladar has no choice. From that day on Carnotaur is the king. He doubles the taxes and forces everyone to selfishly feed him. That night in the castle, a portal opens. Carnotaur steps into it. It is a snowy place that he doesn’t recognize. Just then a young dinosaur by the name of Carnotaur is trudging alone on Christmas Eve. Carnotaur feels pity for the first time, realizing that he is in his past and the young dinosaur is him. He asks for the past to go away and the past fades away. Then he is in the year 2011. He meets a girl named Andrea and for the first time is not selfish and is happy. Then another portal opens. When he steps into it, it looks the same as the year 2011. Then he realizes that he is in the present. He finds a group of friends having a good time on Christmas Eve. He sees that one of the friends is Andrea. Her jolly holiday spirit touches his heart. Then for the first time Carnotaur feels shame. He remembers how he treated the festive people of The Nesting Grounds. Carnotaur learns that Andrea has a really bad breathing problem. Then he fades into a doctor’s office with Andrea being the patient. He learns that her breathing problem is very serious. Then the present fades away. He is back to the year 2011, on Christmas Eve. He meets up with Andrea and talks to her about her breathing problem. She asks if he could help. But Carnotaur refuses only thinking about his money. But like the nice friend she is, Andrea doesn’t care. He steps into a portal back to the prehistoric age. It is midnight at the castle when Carnotaur arrives. Just then a big shadow of a grim reaper appears. Carnotaur realizes that this is the Ghost of Christmas Future. The spirit takes him to a darkened room where a corpse lies on a bed covered by bed sheets. When the spirit is about to reveal who lies under the covers, Carnotaur hesitates. Then the spirit takes him back to the group of friends. But Andrea isn’t there. The friends aren’t jolly anymore. Carnotaur is confused. Then the spirit takes him to a nearby cemetery. Carnotaur asks whose name is engraved on the tombstone. The spirit reveals that Andrea has died. Carnotaur begs to be given a second chance to change himself. When the spirit shows that she has died at the age of 16 and on Christmas, Carnotaur tries to escape. But his feet get caught in snow lowering into the pit. When he is about to fall in he grabs a root and dangles from the pit. When the snow clears a coffin a revealed, which sit atop the fires of hell. The coffin opens and Carnotaur falls in. When he wakes up he is back into his own castle on Christmas Day. He Gives Aladar his kingship back and fixes the cave that he broke. He even gives Andrea the medicine that cures her breathing problem. From that day on he embodies the true holiday spirit.
