On January 31, 1992, a 17 year old woman by the name of Shawna Baker

was shot in the face during an attempted robbery at "Ken's Cardinal's Grocery Store", with the 2 main perpetrators being Shantella Ferguson and Jerrie Jones, with Jones being the one who targeted Hunter with the gun.

Robbery

Throughout the month of January 1992, Mark Strickland, a previous convict who claimed to have robbed the store several times before, had been planning a specific target at the store for an unknown day. The 2 other people, Jerrie Jones and Shantella Ferguson had been specifically selected to rob the store on that day. On an unknown day, the robbery was planned to take place on January 31, 1992.
