KCSAA is an abreviation for the Kentucky Christian School Athletic Association. It is an association of Christian Schools and Homeschool Associations who have joined themselves together for the purpose of athletics in a Christian environment.

It is said that Golf will soon be added to this association's list of sports though it has not yet gotten under way.
Purpose and Goals
[edit]"The Kentucky Christian School Athletic Association is an opportunity for Christian Schools and Home School Associations to compete in team sports in a Christ - centered atmosphere. Our goal is to provide competition and all of its benefits in a setting that honors Biblical standards in behavior and appearances."

History and Reputation
[edit]The KCSAA has had a history of being predominantly comprised of (but not exclusive to) schools that are of the Independent Baptist movement. These schools in the beginning were mostly small schools though in recent years larger schools have joined the association, along with more schools that are outside the Independent Baptist movement. The association is known for its strict standards and guidlines. Girls are required to wear skirt appearing culottes that cover their knee when participating and no sleveless shirts. They must also avoid wearing pants while attending a KCSAA function. The young men are to be clean shaven and not have what the association would consider a worldly haircut. (A worldly haircut may mean long or shaggy.) Young men must also wear shorts that cover their knee. No wordly piercings are allowed in the association and no tattoos are to be visible.
Distinctives
[edit]The KCSAA is distinct in the way that it endevors to have fellowship with member schools. Two times a year (generally the first Friday in November and the second Friday in January) the league will conduct a Ball-O-Rama. This is where all member schools will gather at the Kentucky Basketball Academy (an arena with 5 basketball courts that can convert to volleyball courts easily) in Lexington, Kentucky and play 2 season games a piece. This was to compensate for traveling to schools that are a great drive away from their home location along with fellowship. The association also contucts its state volleyball and basketball tournaments at the Kentucky Basketball Academy. This is generally held the last Friday and Saturday of February.
