I am interested in comics primarily, and joined in order to add detail to the British comics section (particularly in the area of girls' comics).

These are some things I've vaguely got in my sights.

Comics titles

[edit]
  • Misty (comics) - still pretty much a basic stub. Need to bring in various sections so as to enhance as per the Jinty article. Also need a cover image and info box.
  • Jinty (comics) - in reasonable shape for now. Still need to add a References and an External Links section - perhaps at that point the Stub cat can be removed.
  • Tammy (comics) - still pretty thin, as per Misty. Needs an image, which I can scan (but not over the next couple of weeks).

British small press and comics scene

[edit]
  • British small press comics - I'm sure I can always add in something here and there, though the article itself is in pretty good nick.
  • Caption (comics convention) - History section needs a bit of work. Would also be good to upload the image of the CAPTION logo as it has been such an ongoing image of the convention. The other sections need rather more work, especially the External links which is not very tidy.
  • Qz, the queerzine run by Jeremy Dennis and Damian Cugley. Not quite sure what the right redlink for this is likely to be - the initials by themselves redirect to Indonesia AirAsia! I cannot find any other similar queer-related underground publications listed to model this on (though J.D.s is relevant it does not need a disambiguation). Perhaps a general article would be better, to avoid notability issues... (Links to the Queercore entry.)
    • I would say that Jeremy should get a page to herself though there may be WP:COI issues I suppose.
  • Andy Roberts - is 'comics' the best disambiguator when if anything he became best-known as a musician - but then there is another Andy Roberts already? Well, the heading can be moved later I suppose.

Artists

[edit]
  • John Armstrong (comics) - started and well added-to by John Freeman, but it's not got a huge number of references and it does have a references warning. I've added as much as I can to it for now, though.
  • Mario Capaldi - to do, have got some initial links / references including Comiclopedia entry here [1], Comic Book DB here [2], news item on his death here [3], comics adaptation of The Moon Stallion here [4]
  • Phil Gascoine - a bit listy at present but well-started. I want to add some stuff about the SSI and an image of his art.
  • Trini Tinturé - to do, need to find links / refs (Comiclopedia entry here [6], her own website here [7])
  • Guy Peeters - to do, need to find links / refs - he has no Comiclopedia entry, interestingly enough...

Writers

[edit]
  • Amend the Pat Mills article to include information on his girls comics work.

One problem is that it's not always easy to know much about the artist's biographical details as so few of them have been interviewed or in some cases even identified, even if they are prolific. Another problem in the case of the writers is that it's even harder to know who wrote anything, unless there is a specific credit box (Tammy only, pretty much, in girls' comics).

Other people

[edit]
  • D'Israeli already exists as a page but I should be able to add a photo at least, as well as reviewing some other stuff on it.
  • Tom Orzechowski well-known letterer for US comics - for big titles such as X-Men and Spawn, so I'm surprised it's still a redlink at present. [8] interview posted at COMICON.com
  • Ionicus - I was astounded this page didn't already exist.
