My thoughts on what to do with the articles involved with WikiProject American football:
- American football Obvious keep, but clean up to conform to Manual of Style. Also, refrain from having duplicate information here and on whatever "American football strategy" article develops and its "daughter articles."
- Ace formation Merge with "offensive philosophy" article in a section of the article titled "formations"
- American football defensive schemes Merge with new article "Defensive Philosophy (American football)"
- American football plays Merge with "Offensive philosophy"
- American football positions Parent category for ALL positions which will be merged HERE.
- American football rules Improve and extend.
- American football strategy Tighten article and include links to "daughter articles" (which should be much fewer in number once we are done.
- Arena football Not sure what to do with this, but an obvious keep.
- Clock management Merge with "offensive philosophy"
- College football Make sure we communicate with WikiProject:College football (which I am also a member of)
- Comparison of American football and rugby league See below
- Comparison of American football and rugby union See below
- Comparison of Canadian and American football The two above are definite merges with each other. Maybe merge all comparisons with American football with other "footballs." Is there even an article on the evolution(history) of "football" into all the variations. Something to think about...
- Defensive coordinator Not sure. Possible merge with Defensive philosophy.
- Dimeback Merge with defensive philosophy in section on "schemes."
- Eight-man football Merge all articles on small high school football together.
