My name is Jonathan Twombly. I am a PhD student in Japanese History at Columbia University. I am primarily interested in the formation and development of constitutionalism in Japan, and recently completed my master's thesis on the "private draft" constitutions written by private Japanese citizens and groups in the aftermath of Japan's defeat in World War II.
