Brianna Le Busque, PhD is a lecturer in STEM.[1] who focuses on the human dimensions of environments and wildlife. With seven years of experience in higher education, she is a dedicated educator who has taught various disciplines, including psychology, health, and business, while also supervising Honours and HDR students.

She holds a PhD in Psychology, with research primarily centered on conservation psychology [2] her work explores themes such as biophilia [3] (the connection to nature) and biophobia [4] (the fear or dislike of nature and certain animal species). A significant portion of her research examines people's fears of sharks and the media's influence on these perceptions.

Education

Le Busque graduated highschool and went on to achieve a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) [5]. Before returning to university to gain a PhD in Conservation Psychology. She wrote her PhD dissertation on the 'Psychology of Shark Conservation' and the psychological implications of media portrayals of sharks.

Career

While working on her PhD dissertation she worked as a behavioural scientist in the industry role of market research. [6]

She now works at the University of South Australia [7] as a lecturer.
