Victoria Kabeya (VKY)


VKY- for Victoria Kabeya- is a Belgian author born in 1991. She has published more than 25 books as of 2020[1]. She was noticed in late 2018 for the release of her very first musical essay about French-Senegale rapper Booba[2]. An Afro-Arab through her maternal side, Kabeya is also a scholar who has written about Black Arab/Israeli identities as she has roots among the Afro-Palestinians and Black Israeli[3]. In 2020, she published a new essay entitled Les Invisibles Du Levant (The Invisible of the Levant) which dealt with the isolation of Native Black populations in the Levant region[4]. She publishes under Editions Canaan.

The author is critical of Kamala Harris and publishes occasionally regarding the condition of the Afro-Portuguese community in Lisbon[10].

She is also the creator of the first online digital media dedicated to Black Arab scholars and journalists, The Black Arab Media[11].
