I live in Canada, province of quebec, in the city of Brownsburg-chatham. I am retired and pursue tons of personal projects since 2018.
personnal interest
[edit]I am a software engineer. I am been involved in system software for a long time, and especially linux since 1992. My major contributions to linux have been: umsdos, linuxconf, linux vserver. I also collaborated on the first version of depmod and modprobe utilities along with the kernel on demand loading of modules (kerneld).
Bolixo
[edit]Bolixo is my main project now. Bolixo is a distributed social media and collaboration tool.
Music
[edit]I am writing songs. I mostly write directly in lilypond notation. Then I use the midi output to listen. I am using TiMidity as the midi renderer. When done, I am using ardour to add real instruments and voice. I have developped a set of small tools to help. It starts with a pre-processor allowing me to extend lilypond syntax. It allows me to hook special scripts in lilypond notation to help generate complex (or tedious) sequences (like chords). It also let me enter the lyrics right next to the melody notes.
I play electric guitar, bass guitar and piano.
