Adam Murciano (born October 10, 1994)[1][2] is a Canadian actor. He is known for his roles as David Summers in the up coming Amazon Video series, "2nd Generation", Sal in Teenagers (web series), Norm in Disney Channel's Frenemies (film) and recently playing opposite of Christopher Lloyd in 12 Monkeys (TV series).
Early life
[edit]Murciano was born on October 10, 1994 in Toronto, Ontario as the oldest of three children. His mother is Michelle Sharone and father Isaac Murciano.[3] He graduated from Richmond Green Secondary School in 2013.
Career
[edit]At age 9, Murciano made his professional acting debut in a stage version of Charles Dickens' Great Expectations
In 2008, Murciano made the switch from theater to film & television and signed to a talent agency in Toronto. Shortly after joining their roster, Murciano went to Los Angeles with his father to attend some acting classes and to network with casting directors in the city. After returning he went on his first audition and landed the role of Tino Tardo on the hit Canadian television series Rent-a-Goalie.
In 2009, Murciano appeared on Disney XD series What's Up Warthogs! That same year he signed on to became a regular on a live television series called "teenZtalk". Where a panel of teens would discuss teenage topics and take live calls. The series aired every Wednesday and reran on weekends.
In 2011, Murciano appeared in the Disney Channel original movie Frenemies (film) with Disney stars Bella Thorne, Zendaya and Nick Robinson (American actor). Murciano played the role of Norm, Stefanie Scott boyfriend in the film. Frenemies premiered on January 13, 2012, on the Disney Channel.[4] Later that year Murciano played the role of Chris Elkhart in the syfy series Alphas (TV Series).
In 2012, Murciano appeared in the independent Entertainment One Films, The Conspiracy (2012 film) and the short film "Much Adolescents About Nothing".
In 2013, Murciano starred in his own podcast series entitled "3 Peas in a Podcast". The series ran for two seasons and peaking at number 1 on the ITunes Store comedy charts and ITunes Store "What's Hot" charts for 6 weeks.The show's second season aired on MTV.com. Later that year he starred in the sci-fi thriller short, "Pushers" which screened at the 2014 Comic Con in the U.K.
In late 2015, Murciano was cast to play Dan in the highly anticipated, LGBT drama "Transitions". The film followed Savannah, played by Brittany Raymond, who transitions from a female to a male and the turbulence it causes for her and her boyfriend, Dan. The film premiered at the ReelWorld Film Festival in Toronto. This film earned Murciano his first award for Best Actor in a Short Film at the Young Entertainer Awards, held at Universal Studios Hollywood on March 19th, 2017.
In late 2016, just a month after "Transitions" premiere, Murciano guest-starred on the Emmy Award winning children's series Odd Squad (TV series). That same month, it was announced that Murciano will be playing the role of Sal on the cult-following webseries Teenagers (web series). A twenty minute season 3 sneak peak, featuring Murciano, premiere on November 16th, 2016.
In June 2017, Amazon Video released the first season of high school comedy-drama series "2nd Generation" where Murciano recurs as David Summers throughout the season. It was also announced that the third and final installment of Teenagers (web series) will premiere at the end of the year.
In 2018, Murciano will play young Christopher Lloyd in an up coming episode of the syfy series 12 Monkeys (TV series).
