MetaOptima Technology Inc.

MetaOptima Technology Inc. (MetaOptima), is a global medical technology company based in Vancouver, Canada, that specializes in developing teledermatology products. MetaOptima was co-founded in 2012 by two local PhD graduates from Simon Fraser University, Maryam Sadhegi (CEO) and Majid Razmara (CTO).¹ In 2018, MetaOptima opened a second office in Sydney, Australia.²

Funding

In 2018, MetaOptima raised CAD$8.6 million in Series A financing led by Australian-based Skip Capital and AirTree Ventures.³ On March 5, 2019, the Innovation, Science, and Economic Development (ISED) Canadian government branch announced the funding for Canada’s Digital SuperCluster projects at MetaOptima’s headquarters in Vancouver, B.C..⁴ MetaOptima was one of the six projects chosen in the first round of funding that consisted of CAD$40 million of government investment.⁵
